It is such an honor to be invited back for a third time as a featured performer at the North Texas Irish Festival! Started in 1983, the festival is the second oldest Irish festival in the country and the largest in the southwest.
Our new album A World Away is getting a lot of attention. It placed #1 on the One World Music Radio Chart, #4 on Zone Music Reporter Chart, and was also named one of the Top Three albums of 2018 by New Age CD. All of this was after debuting on the Billboard Charts at #4.
My family just released their 18th album, A World Away I sing the lead vocals on five of the ten songs. The album debuted at #4 on Billboard Magazine! (And that's me on the cover!)
Here's what One World Music Radio had to say:
I can count myself extremely lucky today, as I am now on my second listen of the new album by 2002, I’m pretty sure it won’t stop there and I am going to make a really bold statement from the off, I rate this to be their best ever album thus far! - Steve Sheppard, OWMR
I just finished my fourth performance at the Embassy Suites in Denton. 8:00 am - 10:30 am is a little tough when you also have to drive for an hour to get there and set up a PA system! :-) But it's been a fun summer. There will be one more performance there on August 26.
It was a huge honor to be a Featured Performer at the 36th North Texas Irish Festival. I performed 3 shows on 2 different stages. I also played fiddle and harp for The "5 O'Clock Band" of the North Texas School of Irish Music. I hope to see you all again next year!
